Afghani Kush AA

Afghani (Hindu Kush) landrace strains are the genetic origin of virtually all modern indica cannabis. Breeders in the 1970s and 1980s brought Afghani seeds from the Hindu Kush region to the West and began crossing them with sativa landraces to create the first hybrid strains. AA (Double A) is the standard commercial quality tier — good, functional cannabis with adequate trichome coverage, acceptable aroma, and consistent potency without the exceptional bag appeal and terpene intensity of AAA or AAAA grades. For Afghani Kush specifically, AA grade delivers the authentic landrace indica effect — heavy body sedation, hash-like earthiness, and sleep-promoting relaxation — at a value price point appropriate for consumers who want the functional experience without premium aesthetics.

Afghani Kush is best suited for experienced cannabis consumers using it for specific therapeutic applications: sleep (the heavy sedation and sleep-promotion are exceptional), chronic pain (landrace indica analgesia is historically potent), muscle tension and spasm, and severe anxiety where deep physical calming is needed. The pure indica experience is not appropriate for new cannabis consumers or for any daytime use — the heavy couch-lock and sedation are intense even at AA grade.
