Pine Tar

Pine Tar Kush is a Pakistani landrace cannabis variety from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region — a pure indica originating in the same Hindu Kush mountain range that produced Afghani Kush. The 'Pine Tar' name references both the intensely piney, resinous aroma characteristic of this variety and the sticky, tar-like resin that coats the buds so heavily that breaking up the flowers leaves fingers coated with dark, sticky material — historically significant for hash production in the region.

Pine Tar Kush is pinene-dominant — making it more piney-fresh than the earthy, hash-like Afghani Kush or the spicy Purple Kush. The Pakistani landrace character adds a specific medicinal-camphor dimension from the high pinene content that distinguishes Pine Tar from other Kush landraces. Pinene has documented anti-inflammatory properties and contributes to a slightly more clear-headed body relaxation than the purely myrcene-heavy landraces.

Pine Tar Kush was historically used in hash production in the Kush region — the extraordinary resin production made it ideal for charas and other traditional hash formats.
